Professeur émérite d’histoire à la San Diego State University et auteur de The Manly Eunuch, The Making and Unmaking of a Saint et The History of Sexuality Sourcebook. De 2004 à 2014, il a été rédacteur en chef du Journal of the History of Sexuality.
