Professor of Sociology at John Jay College and the CUNY Graduate Center. She is the author of Fetal Positions: Understanding Cross-National Public Opinion about Abortion (Oxford, 2025), a global study of abortion attitudes, and coauthor of Handing Down the Faith. Her award-winning research on religion and public opinion appears widely in academic journals and major media outlets.
