Professor at Howard University’s Department of History. Her recent books include Reparations for Slavery and the Slave Trade (2023) and The Gift (2024). A member of UNESCO’s International Scientific Committee of the Routes of Enslaved Peoples Project, her latest work is Humans in Shackles (University of Chicago Press, 2024).
