Author of Symbolic Power, Politics, and Intellectuals (2013), co-winner of the ASA's History of Sociology Distinguished Scholarly Book Award, and of the widely cited Culture and Power: The Sociology of Pierre Bourdieu (1997). His research interests include political sociology, intellectuals, and culture.
